Global packaging company Ampac has become the North America licensee for Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics’ PacXpert packaging technology.
PacXpert enables the conversion of large rigid plastic containers to packaging options that are flexible and easy to carry.
The lightweight packaging design offers a fitment cap and integrated ergonomic dual handles, enabling easy pouring, reclosing and convenient carrying. It is visually transparent, allowing consumers to see the contents within. It also offers the opportunity to print on all four sides of the package.
According to Dow, PacXpert has the potential for use in numerous household, institutional, food service and industrial applications, including liquids and dry good products. Once filled, the flexible, shelf-stable technology can stand upright or on its side.
The technology requires minimal raw materials during the manufacturing process, and the format also requires less material and improves the product-to-package ratio compared to rigid containers.
PacXpert was trademarked by Dow after it acquired the global license to Smart Bottle technology. Packages converted with Dow’s PacXpert technology will be produced and sold by Ampac under the name ‘Ampac CubePak’.
