Glass manufacturer Ardagh Group, Glass – North America and craft distiller Heritage Distilling have entered a partnership to develop glass bottles for hand sanitiser.
The collaboration is in response to meet the increased demand for hand sanitiser during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Heritage Distilling CEO Justin Stiefel said: “The need for hand sanitiser has been rapidly evolving from week to week.
“We went from producing 16,000gal per month to 600,000gal per month overnight with just a few weeks to plan how we were going to bottle it and get it into the hands of businesses and consumers. Without hesitation, Ardagh Group responded to our need and identified solutions to support this historic initiative. We are tremendously grateful for their partnership.”
Under this partnership, the hand sanitiser produced by Heritage Distilling is packaged in a 750ml Inspiration Stelvin ECO Series glass bottle manufactured by Ardagh.
The ECO Series bottle has been developed and designed to lower environmental impact.

Heritage Distilling has repurposed business from producing and bottling spirits to hand sanitiser.
Compliant with the US Food and Drug Administration and the World Health Organization, the sanitiser is produced by Heritage Distilling at its distilleries in Gig Harbor, Washington, and Eugene, Oregon.
Last month, Ardagh Group Glass – North America agreed to supply its US-made premium contemporary wine bottles to Wollersheim Winery.
