Axon, a business unit of Pro Mach, has introduced new steam heat shrink tunnel ThermoPoint 2.0.

The new tunnel is designed for full-body shrink labels and tamper-evident bands of highly contoured containers to deliver precise and repeatable control of the shrink process.

The ThermoPoint features a new cantilevered and height-adjustable frame, which facilitates flexibility and easier maintenance.

Designed for years of trouble-free operation, the rugged stainless-steel frame is easily positioned over the packaging line. The durable stainless steel construction and double shell design keeps the tunnel cool to the touch.

On each ThermoPoint access panel, Axon offers optional Allen Bradley interlocks, featuring category 3 safety circuitry.

The company also offers an optional steam generator and blow-off tank for the ThermoPoint for customers who do not require centralised steam.

The steam shrink tunnel has the capacity to accommodate both small and large containers, delivering steam at different rates, heights and angles. Each of the tunnel’s three heat zones can be adjusted independently with steam evacuation flues that allow independent steam and temperature settings.

Graduated dials and steam injector adjustment indicators enable precise control of the process and repeatability between batches. Full length-of-tunnel condensate trays catch drips while keeping the area around the tunnel clean and dry.

In addition, the tunnel features easy access to components that help speed up and simplify maintenance. It also features Allen wrenches for fast change over.
