Aerosol Can

The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has updated its Retail Liaison Group (RLG) about new changes in aerosol regulations and labelling in the UK.

BAMA’s RLG includes technical representatives from many of the nation’s major retailers comprising grocery, pharmacy and DIY retail chains.

The group updates retailers with information on aerosol regulatory changes, and also discusses any concerns with them.

In a meeting with RLG, BAMA discussed the matter related to counterfeiting, the aerosol dispenser directive and the European regulation on classification.

The meeting also highlighted topics such as labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP), including labelling changes, as well as guidance on warehousing and handling requirements.

"BAMA’s RLG includes technical representatives from many of the nation’s major retailers."

RLG noted how the Aerosol Dispenser Directive 2013/10/EU amends Directive 75/324/EEC to align with CLP.

According to BAMA, the first stage of new regulations in the aerosol sector will come into force gradually on 19 March 2014 for completion in June 2017.

For retailers, new CLP guidance was released to help them manage the transition to the new CLP labelling system.

The technical trade association BAMA provides retailers with key information on regulatory and scientific changes in the aerosol sector.
