Berry Global, a US-based packaging solutions provider, has launched the ClariPPil bottle, a clarified polypropylene (PP) product designed for the healthcare sector.

The new range is said to offer superior sustainability and enhanced product protection when compared to traditional coloured polyethylene terephthalate (PET) pill bottles.

These latest recyclable PP healthcare bottles have been awarded a RecyClass A certification, showcasing their recyclability in regions with suitable recycling facilities.

They are suitable for various products, including nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, vitamins, beauty supplements, and over-the-counter treatments.

Berry Global sustainable project manager Jessica Rodriguez said: “We believe our ClariPPil bottle provides an advanced packaging solution that will transform healthcare packaging.

“As well as its superior sustainability profile, the bottle offers excellent performance and quality.”

Available in green, light and dark amber options, the ClariPPil bottles cater to various product requirements.

They can also be customised in different colours upon request. The significant advantage of these bottles is their wide recyclability, as opposed to coloured PET bottles which can disrupt recycling streams.

Berry Global has also highlighted the technological advancements behind the ClariPPil bottle’s production.

The company reported a reduction of approximately 71% in carbon dioxide emissions when compared to the traditional injection stretch blow moulding process used for PET bottles.

In addition to its environmental benefits, ClariPPil bottles reportedly offer up to 84% better moisture protection than PET, ensuring prolonged integrity and effectiveness of the contained products.

These bottles come in 100cc, 120cc, and 150cc sizes with a universal 38mm neck that fits various standard closures, including child-resistant options.

The solution’s design also allows ample space for custom branding.

Berry Global director Ryan Maszton said: “ClariPPil bottles meet the demand for a sustainable packaging solution without compromising functionality, aesthetics, or barrier performance.

“Equally important, our high-capacity production facilities mean we can offer companies speed of supply and fast response to help them bring products quickly to market, maximising opportunities in growing sectors such as vitamins, minerals and supplements.”

In August this year, Berry Global collaborated with Norwegian brand Aquafigure to introduce a new line of reusable water bottles.
