Beumer has unveiled a new bag-in-bag system that is capable of packing filled paper bags individually or in groups with a weather-resistant plastic film.
The new plastic film will prevent the product within the bag from exposure to moisture, dust, insects and other environmental hazards during storage and transport.
The company noted that the system can be easily integrated into the existing filling and packaging systems of the operator.
With a thickness ranging from 30 to 100 microns, the film also eliminates the need for an outer packaging, thereby reducing costs and increasing filling performance.
It is also claimed to reduce the need for ultrasonic welding of the bags.
Beumer is offering the new bag-in-bag in collaboration with Tentoma. In addition to packaging bags, the technology is suitable for goods with lengths of up to 8m and product circumferences of 600mm to approximately 5,600mm.
The Beumer bag-in-bag that supplements the Beumer fillpac inline packer and the Beumer paletpac high-performance palletiser can be used for bar stock, insulation materials or consumer goods.
It has a capacity to process up to 800 bags an hour. The operator can also customise the machine according to the specific requirements.
Beumer noted that the system can be configured as a semiautomatic insular solution; a fully automatic depalletising, packaging and palletising line; or an integrated solution in which machines can be switched on individually.
