Image-recognition mobile applications provider Blippar has launched Blippbuilder, an augmented reality mobile phone app to add a layer of interactive digital content to static images.
Blippbuilder allows web-linking, opinion polling, photo sharing, music playing, video watching and photo gallery viewing to be added to print advertisements, physical products, and more.
It also offers a choice of animation options for how content appears upon recognition, such as fade, slide, hover, pop, or pulse, thus enabling the creation of a 3D layered effect.
A drag-and-drop interface makes it easy for agencies and in-house teams to create different augmented reality campaigns in a short span of time. Technical or coding skills are not required to use the app, nor is the downloading of software.
The tool also offers an analytical dashboard that includes real-time metrics, enabling agencies and clients to gauge the level and depth of engagement and interaction.
Blippar chief executive officer and co-founder Ambarish Mitra said that the app enables brands and agencies to develop augmented reality experiences in-house, without training or specific expertise in augmented reality.
