Borealis and Borouge have introduced the new family of Anteo linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) packaging grades for the global packaging market.

The new product line is equipped with strong optics for increase shelf life of the packaged products and offers easy processability at lower extruder pressure, as well as enhances sealing integrity and puncture-resistance.

Anteo is produced at Borouge’s Ruwais plant in the UAE and uses Borealis Borstar Bimodal Terpolymer (BBT) technology to offer multiple flexible packaging applications.

The global launch of the new film has been planned from Linz, Austria; Abu Dhabi, UAE; and Shanghai, China.

“Anteo has been tested and verified by more than 100 Borealis and Borouge customers worldwide.”

Featuring bimodality in molecular weight and density, Borealis’ BBT Technology combines a smart catalyst design with a superior, two-reactor system process that comprises two comonomers to offer higher flexibility in polymer design.

The new product also offers additional processability and improves its other attributes such as flexibility, toughness, sealability and appealing optics.

Anteo has been tested and verified by more than 100 Borealis and Borouge customers worldwide.

Under the testing, the solution offered easier processability at lower extruder pressure compared to conventional metallocene LLDPE sealants, as well as the user achieved higher speed when used as sealing material in laminated and non-laminated films.

The usage of this film decreased energy consumption, material waste and the risk of potential damage to the packaged items.

The first grades in the Anteo product line, Anteo FK1820 and Anteo FK1828, are currently available in Europe, the Middle East, Russia, Africa and Asia.
