TPR tablet press

Bosch Packaging Technology will launch a new range of Manesty TPR tablet presses at Achema 2015, scheduled to be held from 15-19 June in Frankfurt, Germany.

The new TPR 200 and TPR 700 tablet presses, with integrated die options, have been designed for small to medium batches, and high-production volumes, respectively.

These machines will complement TPR 500, which was introduced at Interpack last year.

All three machines feature a modular powder feeding system, and an easy-to-operate human machine interface, claimed to improve overall equipment effectiveness.

Bosch Packaging Technology product manager John Murphy said: "The successful launch of the TPR 500 confirms that the new range offers exactly what pharmaceutical manufacturers require.

"Based on their feedback, we have now developed two further models to meet the industry’s demands for high yields as well as flexible and efficient production."

"The successful launch of the TPR 500 confirms that the new range offers exactly what pharmaceutical manufacturers require."

The TPR 500 is capable of producing more than 400,000 tablets per hour by means of standard tooling on a small footprint. This is suitable for multiple unit pellet system products without any additional equipment.

The TPR 200 has production rate of up to 230,000 tablets an hour, while the TPR 700 can produce one million tablets an hour.

While the former is easy to clean, the latter can fit the requirement for compressible products, including non-pharmaceutical materials, such as vitamins.

Both TPR 200 and TPR 700 tablet presses can be converted into a bi-layer version that ensures a clear demarcation between the different tablet layers, which the company claims will avoid cross-contamination.

The patented integrated die plate improves the machines’ output by up to 40%.
