US-based flexible packaging company C-P Flexible Packaging has purchased Fruth Custom Packaging and its affiliate, Cleanroom Film and Bag (CFB), for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisitions are intended to expand C-P’s West Coast presence and its capabilities for supplying packaging for medical devices, biopharmaceuticals, electronics and semiconductors.
Fruth and CFB specialise in flexible rollstock and pre-made pouches for cleanroom environments.
The companies’ manufacturing capabilities include numerous levels of cleanroom environments equipped with in-house blown film extrusion, flexographic printing, speciality bag making and slitting.
C-P also expects to benefit from the two companies’ nationwide network of speciality supply partners and e-commerce services.
C-P CEO Mike Hoffman said: “We are delighted to welcome the leadership team and employees of Fruth and Cleanroom Film and Bag to our C-P family.
“With the global focus on health and wellness, as well as the growth in semi-conductor demand for technologies like 5G, we see significant additional growth opportunities for Fruth’s sophisticated cleanroom packaging materials.”
Fruth’s owners and management team were advised by Blaige and Company for the transaction.
C-P is a portfolio company of private equity firm First Atlantic Capital and operates seven manufacturing plants across North America.
Fruth and CFB CEO Jim Fruth said: “We have always tried to provide value to our customers while delivering the highest quality, proof of traceability and zero defects.
“We are excited to join C-P, a company with strong manufacturing expertise and customer focus.
“We look forward to using our combined strengths to expand our reach throughout North America.”
Earlier this month, C-P acquired Prestige-Pak, a manufacturer of printed packaging films, for an undisclosed amount.
Prestige-Pak’s product portfolio includes printed mono and laminated rollstock designed for the bakery, cheese, confectionery, dry goods, medical, pet food and snack food industries among others.
