Canada-based CKF has provided a new packaging design under its Earthcycle portfolio, EC 118, for Serres Sagami’s Savoura bioorganic greenhouse tomatoes.

The new flow-wrapped packaging features a new logo and colour for the rebranded tomatoes.

Currently available in stores across Quebec, Canada, the new packaging was produced in Hantsport, Nova Scotia.

Made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified virgin and recycled fibre sources, the Earthcycle products can easily be recycled with waste paper.

"We love working with partners who share our vision to reduce waste and increase the use of recyclable and compostable packaging."

CKF sales and marketing vice-president Brad Dennis said: “We love working with partners who share our vision to reduce waste and increase the use of recyclable and compostable packaging.

“There is a consistency of message between organic produce and our Earthcycle packaging so it was an easy decision to support Savour Bio’s products.”

The company currently provides packaging products, such as disposable paper, foam and plastic, across the US and Canada.

Last month, CKF unveiled a new bowl design for packing tomatoes, berries, cherries, grapes or take-out salads.

Named EC 808, the new design was created to meet the client’s demand for a larger, top-sealed, compostable bowl.

Featuring a moulded fibre base, the bowl can be easily integrated into existing production lines.
