US-based plastic container maker Consolidated Container Company (CCC) has agreed to purchase Tri State Distribution.

Based in Sparta, Tennessee, Tri State is a packaging solutions provider offering various products such as vials, closures, and labels to retail pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies.

The transaction comes after CCC acquired the assets of US bottle maker Sonic Plastics Enterprises last month.

CCC president and CEO Sean Fallmann said: “CCC is excited to welcome the employees of Tri State Distribution into the CCC family. Under Dave and Joe Miceli’s leadership the company has established an outstanding reputation for innovative packaging solutions with excellent quality and customer service in the pharmaceutical packaging market.

“We look forward to continuing to build upon the foundation of excellence that they have created.”

According to Tri State Distribution co-founder Dave Miceli, the deal comes at a time when the company is welcoming a new phase of growth.

Miceli added: “Our companies share similar visions and principles. CCC believes in and supports the value we bring to our customers and the pharmaceutical packaging segment and will continue to invest in our products, services and team.”

CCC produces a range of rigid plastic packaging solutions to companies in dairy, household chemicals, food and nutraceuticals, industrial and speciality chemicals, water, and beverage and juice segments across North America.

It currently has 64 rigid plastic packaging plants and two recycled resin manufacturing plants with around 3,000 employees working across these locations.

Earlier this year, Consolidated Container’s subsidiary Altium Packaging Canada acquired plastic containers maker Plastique Micron (PMI) and its affiliates for an undisclosed amount.
