By GlobalDataAs part of the partnership, the companies will introduce Ball’s infinitely recyclable aluminium cups at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
The move is part of Centerplate’s Better Tomorrow 2025 objectives and will also support Hard Rock Stadium goal to eliminate 99.4% of single-use plastics this year. Centerplate is the exclusive caterer for Hard Rock Stadium.
Ball chairman president and CEO John A Hayes said: “We are proud to team up with Centerplate and Bud Light to bring fans at Hard Rock Stadium improved, sustainable hospitality with our game-changing and infinitely recyclable aluminium cup.
“We developed the aluminium cup to ensure it meets the growing demand for more green products and we are excited that our partnership will give this year’s Super Bowl fans the opportunity to do better by the environment.”
The partners will remove more than 500,000 plastic cups from Hard Rock Stadium’s supply chain annually.
Centerplate will offer 50,000 20oz cups in the clubs, suites and general concourse areas of the stadium. The cups will be available at Hard Rock Stadium for a year.
Hard Rock Stadium became the first professional football arena to feature the aluminium cups at scale when it launched them during the Miami Dolphins’ game in December.
Aluminium is one of the most sustainable beverage packaging materials as it is infinitely recyclable.
