Packaging products manufacturer Chesapeake has installed a new offset litho print press, MAN Roland R700 LTTLV UV, at its Hillington facility in Glasgow.
According to the company, the new press has six print, two flexo coating units, full ultraviolet and infrared drying capability and a closed loop colour control system.
The R700 LTTLV has been designed with time-saving features to aid rapid changeovers in the packaging markets, said the company.
Chesapeake operations manager Gary Carroll said the new press, which was installed to replace an old smaller press, would help the company extend its capabilities.
"The press ideally complements the site’s existing R700 machine and the additional capacity will allow the site to produce a greater volume and range of products," said Carroll.
"It will also help strengthen the quality and service levels we deliver to our customers."
