Specialty chemicals manufacturer Clariant has signed an agreement with DKSH, a market expansion services provider, to commercialise and distribute its atmosphere controlled pharmaceutical packaging product range in Vietnam.
The scope of the agreement requires DKSH to distribute desiccant caps, packets, canisters, capsules, IDC, T&S and advanced desiccant polymer from Clariant’s Business Line Medical Specialties to the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries in Vietnam.
It will also market handy active tubes (HAT), a durable and rigid container with a convenient flip-top cap and built-in desiccant, used as a container of diagnostic test strips.
These packaging materials inhibits moisture and oxygen from entering the bottles, increasing the shelf-life of the pharmaceutical products in the hot and humid climate of the country.
Clariant Business Line Medical Specialties sales head Jerry Shi said: “Clariant Business Line Medical Specialties is expanding its presence in the South East Asia market, and Vietnam is one of the key strategic markets for the years to come.
“Partnering with DKSH Pharmaceutical Industry, a strong international distribution and market expansion services provider with impressive local Vietnam connections, will allow the range of our premium products to be sold through a reputable distributor with the additional benefits and resources of local understanding, service and support.”
