The Dairy Farming Promotion Organisation of Thailand (DPO) has chosen a sustainable packaging solution developed by SIG for its new ‘National Milk’ product range.

The products have been launched in SIG’s combiblocXSlim 150ml on-the-go carton packs, which use SIGNATURE Full Barrier packaging material.

The drinks range combines pure fresh milk and ingredients from local farms, including local tropical fruits and premium vegetables, in an effort to provide quality and health benefits.

DPO acting deputy director Suchart Chariyalertsak said: “The launch of new products is also in line with DPO’s vision to become the ‘National Milk’ by 2022, aiming to provide more opportunities for the Thai people to enjoy high-quality dairy products.

“This is also in line with the vision of enabling Thai dairy farmers to run stable and sustainable farms.”

Of the raw materials used for combiblocXSlim carton packs, 94% are linked to renewable and forest-based wood sources. The materials are independently certified through a mass balance system.

The carton is designed to combine sustainability with differentiation and help SIG address changes in consumer demand.

It is intended to offer convenient and sustainable packaging solutions to younger people and office workers.

SIG Thailand country manager Vatcharapong Ungsrisawasdi said: “On our journey with the DPO team, we jointly developed the innovative product concepts. It started with the vision of a sustainable ‘National Milk’.

“We have supported our client at every stage of development to now bring products to market in packaging that meets current consumer needs and is also ideal for future trend products.”

In June, French supermarket chain Intermarché chose SIG’s SIGNATURE Full Barrier packaging for its pure apple juice product range.

The juice is packaged in the combiblocPremium 1,000ml carton pack and sold under Intermarché’s Les Éleveurs vous disent MERCI! brand.
