Swiss plastic cap and closure technology solutions provider Corvaglia Group has unveiled plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Newnan, Georgia, US.

The new $25m facility is scheduled to become operational by the end of the year and expected to complement its existing manufacturing operations in Eschlikon, Switzerland, and Ixtlahuaca, Mexico.

Corvaglia Closures US president and general manager James Fisher said: “This is a major strategic step in Corvaglia’s history that positions us well to serve the US market.

“The Newnan, Georgia location positions us well for operational success, and the sense of community aligns with our core values.”

The company noted that the new facility will use in-house moulds to manufacture lightweight one-piece caps and closures for the North American beverage market.

In addition, the facility will also feature digital printing.

Coweta County Board of Commissioners chairman AL Smith said: “We are extremely proud that Corvaglia Group has selected Coweta County for its first US manufacturing facility.

“We look forward to working with Corvaglia Group in providing quality jobs for the people of Coweta County.”

Corvaglia follows an end-to-end market approach, deploying one-piece closure technologies from the design concept to the consumer.

Established in 1991, the company is engaged in closure design, as well as supply of caps and closures for PET containers.
