Indian packaging films manufacturer Cosmo Films has unveiled a sterilisable conduction sealing film, which is suitable for use in wad and lidding applications for polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) containers.
According to the company, the new film can endure high temperatures during the sterilisation process.
The company developed the film to offer seal integrity to products. It is easy to open and is safe for direct food contact.
Companies can use the film as a monolayer, as a sealant layer in a laminated structure with other substrates like aluminium foil, and in roll or pre-cut form.
Cosmo Films CEO Pankaj Poddar said: “The uniqueness of the film lies in its endurance to withstand high temperatures during the sterilisation process without affecting its seal integrity.
“We are confident of the success of this film and the response so far has been extremely encouraging.”
