Global packaging solution provider Coveris has announced an investment to increase the production capacity for medical device packaging at its sites in Rohrdorf and Halle, Germany.
In the coming months, the company is investing more than €8m ($8.62m) to upgrade and expand its medical device production lines, thereby responding to the increasing demand for high-quality medical packaging solutions.
Coveris plans to install two new pouch lines and one header bag line by late 2024 at its Rohrdorf site.
The new pouch and bag lines are said to be technologically similar to the existing capabilities at the facility and will improve service.
The Rohrdorf facility, operational since May 2021, is claimed to comply with the highest medical packaging production requirements, including ISO Class 7 certification.
Meanwhile, Coveris will add a new cast extrusion line at the Halle site to bolster its medical packaging capacity.
