Plastic blow moulder Container Services Inc (CSI) has acquired US-based manufacturer Apex Plastics for an undisclosed amount.
Apex is a specialist in custom single-stage polyethylene terephthalate and extruded high-density polyethylene packaging solutions.
Led by Damon Neff for more than two decades, the ISO 9001:2015-certified company primarily serves the food and beverage, household, and car industries.
Concurrent with the acquisition, CSI has unveiled the formation of FirmaPak, a new platform that brings together customer-focused blow moulders under one umbrella.
FirmaPak will be spearheaded by Rob Goldberg as chief executive officer.
Goldberg said: “FirmaPak brings together local manufacturers like CSI and Apex, with complementary capabilities and product offerings that can serve different end-markets and geographies.

Following the acquisition, both entities will retain their respective branding but will operate as part of the overarching FirmaPak platform.
CSI, supported by Shore Capital Partners, operates facilities in Hillsboro, Kansas, and New Castle, Pennsylvania, both in the US.
Apex, previously a division of PCE, has a plant in Brookfield, Missouri, US.
Neff will maintain his role as president of Apex within FirmaPak, collaborating closely with Goldberg and the CSI team.
Neff said: “I am truly excited to join forces with CSI to launch FirmaPak. This strategic partnership will help accelerate our growth across the United States and Canada and our complementary manufacturing capabilities, geographies, and end-markets will allow us to better serve our customers.”
