FIMI Opportunity Funds (FIMI) has announced its plans to acquire Plastopil, an industrial company currently controlled by Kibbutz Hazorea.
Based in Israel, FIMI is a private equity firm, while Plastopil is engaged in the manufacture of flexible plastic sheets for packaging of chilled food and other products.
McDonald’s has become a founding member of the NextGen Cup Consortium and Challenge, which was unveiled by Starbucks and Closed Loop Partners in March.
The programme aims to develop a global recyclable or compostable solution to minimise drinking cup wastage.
McDonald’s will sponsor $5m towards the programme, bringing the total funding to $10m, which includes financing from Starbucks.
Sentez has entered a pay-per-use agreement to use the subscription model of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen’s large press format.

Oai Hung (Vietnam) has awarded a contract to Bobst for the supply of its CL 850D laminator.
Oai Hung proposes to use the laminator for high-performance cold-formed foil pharma packaging.
The supply contract is part of Constantia Flexibles’ strategy to expand the operations of Oai Hung’s manufacturing site in Vietnam and further expansions in South East Asia.
Based in Vietnam, Oai Hung is a subsidiary of Constantia Flexibles Group that is engaged in the production of aluminium blister foil and rigid film for the pharmaceutical market, as well as foil-based lids for dairy packaging.
Bobst is an Italian company engaged in the supply of equipment and services to packaging and label manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible materials industries.
Based in Austria, Constantia Flexibles manufactures flexible packaging and labels.
