US-based Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics has collaborated with Ring Container Technologies to licence PacXpert technologies.
Ring Container manufactures polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic containers.
Dow Chemical has trademarked the PacXpert packaging technology, which can be used across various household, institutional and industrial applications for food, condiments, liquids and dry goods.
Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics North America new business development leader Heather Turner said: "We look forward to partnering with Ring on the licensing and manufacturing of PacXpert Technology.
"This technology demonstrates the commitment both companies have made to finding innovative and sustainable packaging solutions."
The lightweight packaging design, developed with PacXpert packaging technology, provides a fitment closure and integrated ergonomic dual handles for precision pouring, easy reclosing and convenient carrying.
The flexible and cube-shaped package is designed to be shelf-stable and can stand upright or on its side.
PacXpert packaging technology enables the conversion from larger conventional rigid containers to flexible packaging.
Dow has licensed the technology worldwide through an agreement with Smart Bottle, and is sub-licensing the technology to converters who can use it to create flexible packaging solutions.
