Duca-Pak

Plastics and packaging company DS Smith’s plastics division has expanded its Uni-Pak range with the introduction of a new fold-flat plastics container, Duca-Pak.

Duca-Pak’s internal volume capacity and height is said to be 15% more than existing ‘optimised return solutions,’ which have increased ergonomics.

It features an integrated belt system that helps to interlock the pallet and the sleeve and replaces locks.

Featuring four hooks, the container’s lid can be fixed on the pallet while loading, which means the container uses less space.

The company has used recycled material to produce the core of the foldable sleeve, which ensures increased performance to vertical compression.

It employs ‘six-seconds’ ease-of-use systems, which means that it takes approximately six seconds to fold or unfold each container.

"Featuring four hooks, the container’s lid can be fixed on the pallet while loading, which means the container uses less space."

DS Smith plastics division managing director Mark Lightowler said: "Duca-Pak has been designed with the highest standards of performance in mind: durability, efficiency, re-usability and recyclability.

"All damaged elements of this container can be easily recycled at the end of their working life and turned into new containers.

"This is in line with DS Smith’s ‘supply cycle thinking’ that eliminates complexity and embraces reusability and recyclability in the design of our products."

Duca-Pak recently won the Magna Logistics Supplier’s award for innovation and will be exhibited at the upcoming exhibition Salon de l’Emballage in Paris, France.
