European manufacturer DS Smith has provided a new pack design for French-based Schneider Electric to help the electrical manufacturer decrease waste and packaging costs.
Using its PackRight approach, DS Smith's design helps eliminate the need of paper inserts by printing technical instructions directly onto the packaging. It is also designed to protect products during shipment and storage.
DS Smith's electronics market segment business unit director Gustaf von Segebaden said: "Schneider Electric had very clear aims and by using our PackRight approach we were able to find a design that matched their ambitions.
"A seemingly small change like printing instructions on the pack rather than on a separate document can actually make a huge difference when applied to the scale of Schneider Electric’s production."
Aimed at electricians and other professionals, the new solution fits DS Smith's aim to offer technologies and solutions that manage energy and process in safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable ways.
DS Smith’s solution was adopted following successful testing.
