Foodservice company D&W Fine Pack has expanded its TamperSmart line to include tamper-evident packaging.

Known as SecureTab, the new line is designed to increase the options available to foodservice operations and grocery stores for take-out and prepared-food applications.

Other products in the TamperSmart portfolio include FreshServe and VersaLock containers and lids.

“It provides a clear signal to consumers that their menu choices have not been compromised.”

The new products are said to contain easy-to-open and easy-to-close inline security tabs that ensure product integrity is maintained, as well as a crystal-clear, rib-free design to offer greater product visibility and simplify the application of custom labels on smooth sidewalls.

In addition, the containers and lids are made of recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin and feature tabs that remain attached to the packaging after opening.

With a 7in square footprint, the new SecureTab features instructional, non-detachable pull tabs, which are designed to help customers quickly detect whether a package has been opened before buying.

D&W Fine Pack sales and marketing senior vice-president Keith Dunlap said: “The continued growth in the grab-and-go sector along with the changes in how meals are prepared and distributed are creating a demand for more convenient, innovative food packaging.

“Our TamperSmart packaging not only keeps cold and dry foods fresh, intact and appetising, it provides a clear signal to consumers that their menu choices have not been compromised.”
