American foodservice packaging provider Eco-Products has added new soak-proof, compostable half pans and lids to its Regalia line of foodservice ware.
Made for extra protection against leaks, the new half pans and lids can be used by restaurants, caterers and others who plan to use environmentally preferable solutions for their events.
Eco-Products said the Regalia line will now feature half pans made from sugarcane and lined with PLA, a plant-based, compostable material derived from sugar cane, bamboo and other renewables.
Available in one, two, and four-compartment sizes, the pans feature a compostable lid that fits all of the pans.
The new Regalia brand half pans can be used with hot or cold foods and offer locking tabs for a secure lid fit.
Eco-Products senior director of marketing Sarah Martinez said: “These new soak-proof half pans make catering easier and simpler for caterers and guests alike. Everything from leftover food scraps to the half pans themselves can go into the same compost bin.
“Customers without access to composting will still enjoy the convenience and environmental benefits of single-use pans made with renewable resources.”
Eco-Products, a Novolex brand, offers several cups, plates, bowls, utensils and containers made from renewable and post-consumer recycled resources.
The company works with customers to enhance composting and recycling, and collaborates with the broader industry to shift how businesses and consumers feel about and manage waste.
