Eco-Products, a US-based manufacturer of eco-friendly single-use foodservice products, has launched a range of natural compostable takeout containers that are sourced from 100% renewable sugarcane fibre.
Available in a natural bagasse colour, the new WorldView Naturals compostable container is said to be strong, long-lasting and versatile.
Designed to support environmentally friendly restaurants, Eco-Products’ new packaging line is made of sugarcane bases instead of foam or virgin paper.
WorldView Naturals features 100% post-consumer recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) or Ingeo biopolymer lids, which provides the container with optimum strength and offers better presentation.
The compostable Ingeo lids are best suited for cold foods, while the rPET lids can be used for both hot and cold food.
Eco-Products marketing director Sarah Martinez said: “Guests can easily tell these takeout containers are environmentally friendly. They have a true natural vibe.

The containers have been launched in a wide range of sizes and shapes, which include round, square, rectangular and oval bases.
Martinez added: “WorldView Naturals are perfect for restaurants and foodservice operators to demonstrate their commitment to the environment.
“These containers are unmistakably natural, and that carries a positive and powerful message: This business cares about the environment as much as its customers.”
The bases and Ingeo lids of the new takeout containers meet ASTM standards for compostability and are BPI-certified compostable.
Last month, the company expanded its fully compostable, environmentally friendly line of products for caterers, featuring half trays made from sugarcane and available in several compartment sizes.
