Australia-based baby care products manufacturer Ecoriginals has engaged renewable packaging materials provider Cardia Bioplastics to produce eco-friendly packaging for its baby nappies.
Cardia compostable resin and film technology enables firms to reduce fossil fuel use in the production of their products and packaging, while also delivering compostability. Cardia will supply its compostable films to Ecoriginals for the production of nappy back sheets and nappy packaging.
Cardia Bioplastics managing director Dr Frank Glatz said that the partnership with Ecoriginals will give the company an opportunity to develop compostable films and packaging that will reduce the environmental impact of the nappy products.
"Our proprietary biohybrid and compostable hygiene films and packaging are important offerings in meeting the demanding product and packaging performance requirements of the global hygiene products market," Glatz added.
The environmentally friendly Ecoriginals Baby brand nappies are made from plant-based and compostable materials.
Ecoriginals co-founder Lisa Laing said the new baby nappies have introduced Cardia’s compostable films technology to Australian markets.
"We hope to continue to grow the relationship between Ecoriginals and Cardia as we take on the existing nappy markets in Australia and overseas," Laing added.
