Plant-based packaging solutions provider Evergreen Packaging has introduced a brand called PlantCarton to describe all its sustainable carton products.
The launch of the new brand is aligned with the company’s strategy to promote the use of renewable materials in packaging.
PlantCarton will aim to reach the consumers who are very specific about product and packaging authenticity.
All PlantCarton packages (52oz-64oz) are said to use up to 80% less plastic by weight compared to other similar plastic packages.
Evergreen Packaging North America Sales vice-president DeWitt Clark said: “We find it interesting that so many companies and organisations are doing extensive research and product development on environmentally friendly packaging, yet overlook an immediate solution that can reduce plastic use by up to 80%.
“This is because PlantCarton packages represent the original plant-based package derived from a renewable resource.”
