US-based Founders Brewing has selected Ardagh Group Glass North America to create new glass bottles for its products.
As part of the deal, the metal packaging firm designed a customised 12oz Heritage bottle for Founders Brewing’s Solid Gold premium lager and Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS). The bottles are manufactured in the US.
Ardagh used 100% recyclable amber glass to produce the new bottles.
Founders Brewing chief production officer Brad Stevenson said: “There’s a perception of higher quality when beer is packaged in glass. Every drinking occasion is different and the vessel the product comes in should complement the experience.
“Founders is pleased to work with Ardagh Group in offering beers like Solid Gold and CBS in custom glass bottles.”
The brewing company has introduced its Solid Gold in the new 12oz glass bottles that are now available in 12-pack cases in select markets across the US.
Founders Brewing is planning to introduce the barrel-aged CBS in 12oz glass bottles on 1 November.
This is the first time the product is being offered in a glass bottle and it marks the fifth and final release in the company’s barrel-aged series this year.
Ardagh Group North America glass division chief commercial officer John T Shaddox said: “Ardagh Group enjoys collaborating with brands to create glass packaging that showcases and protects the integrity of our customers’ products.
“We’ve worked closely with Founders Brewing Co. for the past four years and were thrilled when they asked us to help launch Solid Gold and CBS in 12oz glass bottles.”
In July, Sprecher Brewing selected Ardagh Group Glass North America to produce 12oz clear glass bottles for its new sparkling water line.
