GenScript Biotech, a US-based company, has launched a new packaging solution, made entirely of recyclable paper materials.
The company claim that its new packaging is set to reduce waste by 82% and lower annual carbon emissions by approximately 5.14 tons.
It added that the new redesigned packaging solution eliminates the use of foam, instead utilising the inherent structural strength of paper.
The water-based ink used in the solution’s printing is both biodegradable and nontoxic, further reducing waste and ecological impact.
GenScript noted that the packaging has undergone various tests, including low-temperature shipping tests across multiple continents, to ensure shipping quality.
Customer feedback during preliminary testing has reportedly been positive, and GenScript has already upgraded 80% of its shipping boxes, with plans to transition to the new packaging across all types.
