Packaging equipment maker Multivac is investing in the expansion of its headquarters in Kansas City, US, in a bid to further modernise its manufacturing processes.
As part of the proposed expansion, the company will invest $6.9m to add 32,000ft² of space, bringing its total space to 120,000ft².
This investment is expected to create close to 50 new jobs in the region over the next few years. The Kansas City employee count is expected to grow to nearly 300 by end of this year.
The expansion is being backed by a strategic economic incentive package from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
Multivac CEO Jim Campbell said: "2015 was a record-breaking year for Multivac US in terms of revenue.
"We continue to expand and strengthen our presence in the US market through our robust product lines and service offerings. Of course, our growth would not be possible without our talented associates driving it. Business demands and opportunities have put us in the fortunate position of being able to add head count each year, which we will continue to do in 2016."
