Global Closure Systems (GCS) has innovated a new bi-injected plastic jar packaging, which can be used as luxury packaging product in the skincare market.

This double-walled jar comes with an inner opaque layer and a translucent outer layer which makes it an ideal alternative for glass packs.

It has been developed with the use of cube technology. The technology reduces the production cycle times as individual steps in the manufacturing process. For e.g. mould filling and the cooling phase can be carried out simultaneously during the production.

The jars are made from polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and are shatterproof.

"The containers are expected to bring down overall carbon footprint for the company."

This not only improves consumer safety, but also ensures that the aesthetics of the product and brand recognition are maintained.

The jars are supplied by Bender, GCS’s production plant in Frankenthal/Pfalz, Germany, where injection-moulding and packing lines have been installed to facilitate cost-effective and high volume production.

The containers are expected to bring down overall carbon footprint for the company, GCS said.

GCS has recently introduced bi-injected flip-top cap with a tamper-evident device for the packaging industry, which will be used by Italian vinegars Ponti for its products.

GCS’ factory Zeller Plastik Italy is the manufacturer for the push-on caps for Ponti’s PCO 1881 bottle.
