Indian packaging company Grand Prints has purchased an automatic folder-gluer from Robus India, reported Print Week.
This move is aimed at enhancing its offerings in the food carton and pharmaceutical packaging sectors and now expands into FMCG products.

This is Grand Prints’ second Robus machine, after acquiring a smaller-format model in 2021.
Established in 2016, Robus India specialises in carton packaging machines, offering equipment including die-cutting machines, folder-gluer machines, and lamination machines.
Grand Prints CEO Dr Rohin Anhal told PrintWeek: “We want to cater to all sorts of requirements in the packaging sector, and the folder-gluer enables just that.”
The new Robus machine allows Grand Prints to handle smaller patterns or widths, which is said to be beneficial for producing boxes for small products.
Alongside the folder-gluer, Grand Prints has also acquired a Baumer HHS glue system to facilitate the production of complex four-corner or three-corner cartons.
Anhal added: “The cost of ownership of the Robus machine is also comparatively lower than top-tier brands, albeit offering almost the same amount of flexibility. We can currently save memory for about 5000 jobs and it is possible to increase the number.”
Grand Prints intends to explore the production of small flexo labels alongside digital options in the future.
Additionally, in the post-press phase, the company is considering the potential implementation of flatbed hot-stamping, given that it currently possesses two flatbed stamping machines.
Grand Prints has undergone investment in two distinct phases, featuring parallel facilities that span around 45,000ft2. Additionally, it owns several die-cutters manufactured in India.
