Green Technology Solutions (GTSO) is working on new packaging ideas to keep cannabis-infused products safe from children.
The firm is developing a range of edibles to satisfy demand in US markets, in addition to childproof packaging designs.
GTSO CEO Wallace W Browne said: "Every year around Halloween, parents’ concerns seem to grow about the possibility of their kids getting their hands on cannabis edibles, especially candy.
"We are working on new, childproof packaging for edibles that will put parents’ minds at ease."
The packaging solutions will also be marked to help both children and parents highlight which items contain cannabis, in order to prevent confusion and/or accidental ingestion.
Browne added: "The variety of edible products popular with cannabis consumers is nearly endless.
"The industry is demanding a very wide selection of suitable packaging options in order to safely deliver the products that clients and patients want to buy."
Last July, Kush Bottles had also unveiled an exit packaging solution for cannabis edibles.
The exit package was designed in accordance with the standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, ASTM, and the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED).
