Canada-based lifestyle products company High Tide has unveiled a free recycling programme for all cannabis product packaging across its Canna Cabana retail stores.
The company has developed the initiative to enhance the cannabis consumer experience following consistent feedback from customers.
The programme is currently being implemented by Canna Cabana at its five existing stores in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, and Whitecourt, Alberta.
High Tide founder, president and CEO Raj Grover said: “We heard from our customers, loud and clear, that they weren’t happy when it came to the excess amount of packaging that is required for cannabis products.
“Although we have no control over the packaging of cannabis products, we decided that the least we could do was to help collect and recycle it for customers.”
As part of the programme, the retailer will accept all cannabis packaging items such as outer and inner plastic packaging, tins, joint tubes, plastic bottles, plastic caps and flexible plastic bags purchased from a licensed retailer.
