Canada-based bottled water company Ice River Springs has introduced a new 15l bottle for water coolers made of 100% recycled plastic.
The product will first be available in Western Canada under the Arrowhead brand name.
An alternative to returnable polycarbonate bottles, green PET bottles are free from BPA. The Arrowhead bottles reduce energy use and recycle plastics in a closed loop system.
Arrowhead bottle water is sourced near High River, Alberta, from rivers originating from the glaciers of Kananaskis country and the Rockies.
Ice River Springs CEO Jamie Gott said: "We have launched Arrowhead water in green bottles to make use of this plastic and take it out of landfills."
Ice River Springs, from Shelburne, Ontario, began operations in 1995 and with ten bottling plants, has grown to be one of North America’s largest bottlers of water.
