Jiffy Packaging has announced plans to upgrade its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to the latest version provided by QAD Enterprise Applications.
The company plans to first install the new ERP solution at its Wellen, Belgium and Bopfingen, Germany sites.
Jiffy Packaging Europe manufactures polyolefin foam and bubble film products for different end-applications in a range of market segments, such as protective packaging, automotive, building and construction.
It has facilities in Germany, Belgium, the UK, Italy and Czech Republic.
Jiffy Packaging CEO Mark Köllmann said: “Being able to deliver the right products to the right customers in time at the lowest possible freight cost is key.
“We want to simplify and optimise our business processes and employ a state-of-the-art system.

By GlobalData“Moving to the latest version of QAD allows us to take advantage of the latest freight management best practices, maintain flexibility and streamline our administration and organisational processes.”
Initially, Jiffy deployed QAD ERP in 1996 and many of its sites are still using older versions of the software.
Italian packaging manufacturer Airpack Spa acquired Jiffy in 2014, after which it updated the company’s business software and processes, including its ERP.
QAD Enterprise Edition provides standard functionality for manufacturing processes, reducing installation time.
