US-based KBR has secured a contract to provide maintenance, planning and industrial services for renewable packaging and paper manufacturer International Paper (IP).

Under the deal, the company will provide industrial maintenance services for nearly 700,000 labour hours at IP's offices in Svetogorsk, Russia, over a period of four years.

In addition, KBR aims to generate more than $40m in revenue from this contract.

KBR Europe, Middle East and Africa president Jay Ibrahim said: "KBR was awarded this contract based on its successful track record for reliable excellence in delivery over the past ten years for IP.

"KBR has consistently provided high quality work on a full range of total maintenance services, increasing production and reliability of the Svetogorsk mill.

“KBR is proud to continue delivering world class industrial services essential to the long-term success of the Svetogorsk mill and for the benefit of our clients.”

Last month, KBR was contracted to provide professional services for various Australian infrastructure projects.

During the same period, KBR also won a deal from Indonesian state-owned power generation company, PT PLN, under which it will provide engineering and design services to expand the gas supply infrastructure across the country.
