KM Packaging Services has launched the new, eco-friendly Unisold produce bagging systems for packaging fresh produce.

Unisold has been developed to cater to retailer demand for bagging systems that are high-volume, stronger and eco-friendly. The bagging system was also required to be eco-compatible, which helps in extending the lifespan of packaged products, such as fruits and vegetables.

Manufactured from renewable and biodegradable sources, Unisold bagging systems are said to be stronger, split-resistant and will be available exclusively for the UK market.

"Unisold bags come in three different sizes, 6.5mi, 7mi and 8mi, and are also available in several types and colours."

The company claims that the new bags differ from the currently available bags, which are thin, small and often split. These bags are rarely dispensed singly, which leads to the littering of displays with unused plastics.

Unisold bags come in three different sizes, 6.5mi, 7mi and 8mi, and are also available in several types and colours.

The dispenser is designed to dispense only one bag at a time, which reduces waste and also improves hygiene as the customers touch only the bag that they need.

The bag film also contains additives to sustain the freshness of the contents and reduce the ripening process of fruits and vegetables by controlling the absorption of ethylene gas, water vapour and oxygen permeation.

This helps in expanding the lifespan of fruits and vegetables by several days after the purchase is made.
