LC Packaging has secured the QA-CER certification, confirming its use of recycled polypropylene (rPP) in non-food flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs).
QA-CER is a European-level certification scheme that helps in verifying recycled content.
This certification demonstrates LC’s compliance with stringent European quality standards and recognises it as an approved rPP post-consumer recycled materials supplier.
The process involved an audit to assess the company’s traceability and quality management systems, vital for ensuring adherence to the required standards.
In addition, the QA-CER audit scrutinised the entirety of LC’s operations, including its offices, and evaluated a broad spectrum of products containing post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content.
Obtaining this QA-CER verification further improves risk management for customers and verifies LC’s claims about recycled content to governmental entities.

The award has already yielded benefits for LC’s customers in Belgium and Spain, helping them to comply with sustainability and recycling mandates and potentially affecting their tax rebate qualifications.
Building on this achievement, LC plans to obtain similar certifications for other plastic packaging products.
In December 2023, LC secured the Science Based Targets initiative’s approval for its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
