Paper packaging solution providers Linpac and Graphic Packaging have jointly created a premium range of patisserie cartons comprising four-pack styles for the food industry.
The new range is claimed to be ideal for packing bakery items, including cakes, cream buns, gateaux and pastries.
Graphic Packaging has made cartonboard trays and bases for the new range of packaging product, while Linpac was responsible for manufacturing a range of compatible rPET lids.
This new range of complete and cost-effective packs is expected to offer advantages of better on-shelf presentation for baked food products, which can boost sales for bakers and retailers.
Linpac Northern Europe managing director Adam Barnett said: "These four-pack solutions are the result of six months’ development work to ensure we have created a range which meets the needs of the bakery sector and consumers in terms of convenience, appearance and added value to products.
"Linpac leads the way in being able to deliver crystal-clear rPET such as that used for the pack lids. Bakery items should look appetising, fresh and tasty and the enhanced presentation and visibility offered by these patisserie cartons will ensure products stand out on the shelf to drive sales and return on investment."

By GlobalDataThe four types of packs in the range are available as ‘Fold Out’ shallow cartonboard base with a tapered rPET lid, the ‘Theatre’ pack with a hinged lid and wraparound cartonboard base, the ‘Multi-height’ cartonboard nested tray with different pack depths, and the ‘Clip in’ pack that allows reconstruction and can be folded flat.
Graphic Packaging marketing manager Nikki Clark said: "The project has proven how unique designs can be produced when you start focusing on the beneficial properties of both pieces of packaging and how they can securely link together to form a pack."
The new range will be unveiled at Packaging Innovations next month at the NEC Birmingham, the UK.
