Canada-based Macro Engineering and Technology has installed an advanced, seven-layer, cast extrusion lamination line for polymer film and sheeting manufacturer Raven Industries in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, US.
Marco Engineering CEO Jim Stobie said: "We took on the challenges this project presented to us along with the Raven development team.
"This is a win-win situation for both companies as we partner up to deliver innovative products to the industry."
Capable of processing advanced barrier structures, the new seven-layer cast lamination line is has been designed to prevent the migration of radon, methane, doors and hazardous volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Raven Industries Engineered Films Division vice-president and general manager Anthony Schmidt said: "This line provides opportunity for Raven to partner with our customers in the development of some truly unique products with exceptional value propositions.
"The advanced capabilities of this production line will accelerate our expansion into the industrial business segment by offering a broad range of highly refined composite materials, with several being new to the industry."

By GlobalDataThe lamination line incorporates two individual extrusion dies to process low and high-viscosity resin types.
The separate dies facilitate the production of custom-engineered fabric composites, scrim-reinforced membranes and integrated release liners.
The new line also features wide-width cast capabilities of up to 150in (3.8m), ranging from 0.1mm to 2mm in thickness.
