Mauser Packaging Solutions is investing in a new gallon-sized F-style metal can line at its Memphis, Tennessee facility in the US.
The latest investment will see the company increase its production to more than twice the total capacity of quart and gallon-sized F-style metal cans.
Leveraging advanced technology and automation to enhance the use of raw material, the new line reduces waste and energy consumption while increasing productivity levels. It is also equipped with enhanced safety features.
The investment for a gallon-sized can line complements the company’s quart-sized F-Style can line installed at the Memphis facility last August.
Mauser Packaging Solutions Small Packaging president Brian Cooke said: “Our investment in the latest F-style can technology in North America puts us a step ahead of the competition.
“It adds the necessary capacity to meet our customers’ growing demand for high-quality F-style cans, and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to partnering with our customers to provide unmatched quality and customer service.”
The line is expected to become operational during the third quarter of next year and is expected to improve production capacity and quality.
F-Style cans come in sizes ranging from half-pint to one gallon. They can be used for packaging solvents, such as paint thinner, charcoal lighter fluid, chemicals, and other products.
Cans are 100% recyclable post-use and made with at least 25% recycled content.
Mauser Packaging Solutions provides large and small metal, plastic, fibre and hybrid packaging industries, including food, beverage, personal care and pharmaceuticals, chemicals and more.
At the end of last month, the company invested €10m ($11m) for the expansion of its composite intermediate bulk containers (IBC) production site in Erkelenz, Germany.
