Mondi Extrusion Coatings has developed SKOG for Food, an environmentally friendly paper bag solution that can be used on form-fill-seal (FFS) machines.
According to the company, the new solution uses 70% less plastic, while retaining necessary barrier characteristics.
Mondi will introduce SKOG for Food at PACK EXPO, to be held in Las Vegas, US.
SKOG for Food comprises Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper with a double-sided coating that provides the necessary sealing properties and barriers required for FFS machines.
Additional operator investments are not required as the solution can run on all vertical and horizontal FFS machines.
Mondi Extrusion Coatings managing director Jan-Willem Kleppers said: “The new liner complies perfectly with our sustainability strategy.
