Global sustainable packaging and paper company Mondi has announced the expansion of its luxury packaging range ‘IQ GRASS+PACKAGING’.
The company has extended the grammages of this range from the previous 95g/m² and 120g/m² to the new grammages of 80g/m², 200g/m² and 350g/m².
The range is now also made up of up to 30% of grass fibre content and 70% of responsibly sourced fresh fibre pulp, which is certified by both the Forest Stewardship Council and Pan European Forest Certification.
This mixture of grass and fresh pulp fibre helps provide a natural look for the packaging range, which can be used for making boutique carrier bags and promotional cards, among other uses.
Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper’s Marketing & Business Development head Bernhard Cantzler said: “Luxury packaging is literally the first point of contact with a high-quality product. It increases anticipation and conveys quality.
“With IQ GRASS+PACKAGING there is also a touch of nature and uniqueness, because each packaging has its own fine pattern.
“With the addition of additional grammages and optimisation for high-quality special finishings, the paper can be used for carrier bags, liners, promotion cards, vouchers, and food packaging and printed using web offset.”
Mondi says that IQ GRASS+PACKAGING has good printability and efficiency in terms of the printing and converting process.
The paper can also be preprinted in white to give a more ‘intense’ colour reproduction prior to the final printing of images, logos and text.
The range can be used for various dry and non-greasy product packaging such as cosmetic products, spirits, high-quality clothing, and some dry food items.
The 80g/m² paper version can also be used as classic wrapping paper or as a liner for rigid boxes.
