US-based screen-printed labels provider Monvera Glass Décor has completed $1.6m expansion plans in a bid to meet the growing demand for bottle labelling.
Commencing in October 2011, the expansion included relocating to the new Ford Point facility in Point Richmond, California, US. The company has installed its third production line at the new 42,000ft² facility.
The expansion plans also included the purchase of a Fermac F06 CNC machine for screen-printed wine labels. The technology is helpful in controlling the printing process, pixel-perfect art registration and flawless replication. The machine can print full wraps on regular, oval and square-shaped glass, in addition to printing on the neck and shoulder of bottles.
Monvera has also added a second decorating lehr, a spray coating treatment unit, and has also improved automation.
Monvera sales and marketing vice president Caitriona Anderson said that the company wants to see growing interest in direct printing on bottles as a decoration alternative to paper labels.
"This expansion allows us to keep up with market demand and service larger accounts," added Anderson.
