Netherlands-based MPS Systems has entered into a strategic partnership with print solutions firm Colordyne Technologies to launch new hybrid printing solutions.
As part of the partnership, the companies will work closely to develop hybrid solutions that will integrate UV LED or water-based flexo-technology and digital aqueous pigment inkjet technology.
The new solutions will be developed using Memjet’s DuraLink printhead technology from MPS EXL-Packaging line in order to incorporate Colordyne’s digital print engine.
The companies expect that the modular design of the EXL-Packaging product line will allow them to incorporate a combination of flexo and inkjet technology along with other machine functionalities and technologies.
MPS Systems CEO Atze Bosma said: “After the successful experience of offering hybrid solutions for the narrow web market, we strongly believe that the hybrid technology will also be part of the future for the mid-web packaging market.
“As we are very much focused on the total process, we believe in the combination of aqueous inkjet technology and flexo for the flexible packaging market.
“Working with Colordyne on the new aqueous pigment inkjet technology provides an additional way for us to deliver the best solutions to our customers.”
Headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Colordyne Technologies offers high-resolution digital print solutions such as on-demand label and tag colour inkjet printers for various applications and industries.
MPS Systems designs and produces printing presses for the label and flexible packaging industry.
