Labelling system and direct web printer manufacturer Multivac has decided to expand the production capacity of its Marking & Inspection site located in Enger, Germany.
The €2.5m expansion project will include a modern extension to the production hall, which will enable the optimisation of logistics and assembly processes.
The construction work has already commenced and operations are expected to start from April 2018.
Multivac Marking & Inspection CEO Volker Gerloff said: “With this extension to our production hall, we primarily want to expand our production capacity in the sectors of conveyor belt labellers and inspection systems, so that we can meet the constantly increasing demand for these solutions.”
The company noted that between 2014 and 2016, the number of machine orders increased by nearly 25%, with inspection systems and conveyor belt labellers exhibiting the highest growth.
After the completion of the new building, the operating area of the Enger facility will increase by nearly 1,600m², which currently stands at 5,800m².
