North American medical packaging provider Neenah has expanded its single-use sterile packaging range with the addition of an ultra-lightweight reinforced paper solution.
The ultra-lightweight paper-based solution is of a 72g to a square metre (gsm) grade. It is said to be affordable and long-lasting when compared to kraft and synthetic-based medical packaging.
The product can be used as a sustainable substitute for nasal swabs, syringes and other single-use medical applications.
This solution complements Neenah’s existing medical packaging offerings, including lightweight (85gsm) and heavyweight (112gsm) options.
Neenah uses fibres controlled by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) to produce its paper-based products.
These fibres comply with regulatory standards and accept steam and ethylene oxide sterilisation methods.
